| Money Mart Pawn and Jewelry participated in the Lucky Duck Derby Aug. 3, 2004. The Lucky Duck Derby is a fundraiser put together by the Comal County Senior Citizens' Foundation. The Comal County Senior Citizen Center is a non-profit service organization that is dedicated to serving the elderly in need and striving to enhance the quality of life for all elderly. With the help of business donors the fundraiser raised about $25,000 last year and planned to raise even more this year. The money raised is used to provide meals for the elderly and much more. We have a great time at the Lucky Duck Derby every year. If you get a chance come see us at the Lucky Duck Derby next year. It is normally at Landa Park in New Braunfels, Texas at the end of July.
It is quite a site. 10,000 rubber duckies floating down the river. We were a silver duck sponsor this year donating $250.00 to the organization. We also went to the event this year so we could cheer all the little ducks along. Our mascot, Mr. M. came with us and had a great time. He met a bunch of new friends, danced to the music, and even got the hang out with H.E.Buddy.
